Are you looking to be more involved with Atlanta's photographic arts community? Maybe you should consider joining APG's Volunteer Rewards Program. We always need folks to help install and de-install exhibitions, assist with receptions, and photograph openings and other events. If you'd like to be an important part of APG activities, please email us, and we'll find an opportunity that fits your schedule. And if you sign up for the Rewards Program, we'll keep track of the time, and for every 20 hours you volunteer, you can earn a free Membership or Call For Entry fee.
The Gallery will be rented out this May to MFA Thesis exhibitions, so we are pleased to announce a new, off-site APG exhibition curated by intern Nick Ashton. Growing Up Human will run from April 28 - July 25 at Gallery Walk at Terminus, an exhibition space located in the lobby of the 200 Terminus building in Buckhead. Focusing on portraiture, Ashton's inspiration for the show comes from time spent researching the APG image database. "I was drawn to images about the experience of growing up as a boy and then branching out to images of couples and other aspects of childhood and girlhood. The stories in these photos form the basis for the universally shared experiences of childhood and love." The exhibition is free and open to the public, with plenty of parking available in the Terminus parking deck.
