John Dean has shown his photography nationally over 35 years. His artwork centers on the relationship between the domesticated and the wild landscape, with a focus on how architecture and natural forces shape history. In addition to his distinguished career in photography, he is also a master printer.
In 2001 John started Dean Imaging, which specializes in digital imaging, drum scanning and pigment inkjet printing for artists and photographers. His client list includes nationally renowned art museums and artists.
John will lead a discussion on how digital cameras, printmaking and video have expanded and influenced picture-making trends over the last 25 years. A highlight of the talk will be physical examples of the new types of alternative media that are available, today, via pigment inkjet imaging. John will present samples of projects he has created for himself and others.
