Matt Haffner is a multi-disciplinary artist whose works are derived from urban themes and narratives. As a former street artist, his works are often aesthetically graphic and have a variety of size differences from small and highly detailed to extremely large and startling.

Haffner's work often has a sense of nostalgia that is about embracing his blue collar, Midwest roots and his love of the fringe of the urban environments he inhabits. The content of the work his often about the memories of his home, his family, and of the stories that were told to him by his dad about his personal history. It is also about evoking a sense of place that is specific yet is difficult to summarize. The layers and transparency that are evident in this work are about memory, loss, nostalgia, and a love for the city’s periphery and all its complexities.
