Design Salon presents their Summer Showcase Comfort Zone: In and Out. Everyone is invited to attend the presentation of award ribbons and join the group for a party at a nearby elegant eatery. This show take place at the Buckhead Library.

As part of APG's participation in @AtlantaCelebratesPhotography (ACP), members were invited to submit entries to our Design Salon’s juried exhibition at the Buckhead Library. TONIGHT: Please join us for the opening reception of 2017 Student Prize, a major new initiative to support the work of young photographic artists in Georgia. Judges @AnnetteConeSkelton (@theMOCAGA), @Fuller315 (@atlantacontemporary) and @GregoryjohnHarris (@HighMuseumofArt) selected two winners from sixteen nominated students for solo shows in our main gallery: "Infinite Tenderness" by @peytonfulford (Columbus State University) and "The Feeling of Being OK" by @benbowdenlee (Georgia State University) ... Concurrently, in the Ted & Gloria Maloof Gallery, APG presents @MarkCaceresphotos "72 Hours." Caceres explores the current political and social polarization of the USA by focusing on a 72 hour period in Washington, D.C. from January 19, 2017, the day prior to the inauguration of Donald Trump, to January 21, the day of the Women’s March on Washington ... TONIGHT, 6:30pm: Please join us for the presentation of our APG / High Museum of Art Purchase Award to this year's winner, Savannah-based artist Emily Earl (@emilyearlphoto). Seven pieces from Earl’s series Late Night Polaroids were selected by Assistant Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art Gregory Harris (@gregoryjohnharris) to be included in their permanent collection. There will be drinks, bites, and words from Harris and APG executive director Beth Lilly. This program is funded by generous donations from Edwin Robinson and Ted & Gloria Maloof. Link in bio. Very pleased to announce that APG has been awarded two separate grants for the 2017-18 year. The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs awarded $3,500, and the Georgia Council for the Arts awarded $10,000. APG will use these funds to expand its programming and community outreach. Special thanks go to volunteer David Hedges for assisting director @sbethlilly along the way. Look for more details as this exciting year progresses!

SELECTS is our feature exhibition for @AtlantaCelebratesPhotography (ACP), the month-long, citywide photography festival. This exhibition will be juried by High Museum assistant photography curator Gregory Harris, and the show will be featured in the ACP Festival Guide. The Virginia Twinam Smith Award is an important part of this exhibition, as well. APG will offer two artists one $500 award each for the purchase of their photograph for acquisition into the permanent collection of MoCAGA (@themocaga) Link in bio.
