As part of APG's participation in 2017 Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP), all members of APG are invited to submit entries to the APG Design Salon’s juried exhibition at the Buckhead Library. Cash prizes will be awarded, and in past years, sales have been made from this exhibition and will be encouraged, again, this year.
Juror: John D. Lawrence
John D. Lawrence is the Callaway Professor of Art and Design and the Director of the Lamar Dodd Art Center at LaGrange College. In 2002, Mr. Lawrence was inducted into the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters, from which he received the 2002 award in photography. In 2009, a retrospective exhibition of his work was presented at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center in Madison, Georgia. A retrospective of his photographs from 1984-2010 was mounted and exhibited at the Hudgens Center for the Arts in Atlanta, Georgia for October and November of 2010. In 2012, he served as juror of the Serenbe Photography Center’s exhibition at the Cochran Gallery in LaGrange, Georgia. Recent exhibitions of his personal work include Siena Italy in 2016, and at the Cochran Gallery of LaGrange and at the Rankin Center of Photography in Columbus, Georgia in 2015.
There is no theme for this exhibition. The show is open to all members of APG and to all photographic media. You may submit up to 3 image files. Second: Prepare Text File and Images
- Export images as .jpg. Resize to maximum 2048 px on the longest side (72ppi).
- Rename files to the title of the work, exactly as you wish it to appear (Example: My Great Photo.jpg) Your name will be automatically prepended to each file upon upload.
- Create a text file with your name, email, artist statement (500 words max) and title list that includes creation year, medium, and size. Upload this file along with your images. We suggest you download the example file on this page to use as a starting point.
- Once you have paid the entry fee and uploaded your files, you will receive a confirmation email.
