This workshop is designed to help participants craft well-written artist statements that are accessible and concise for their viewers. Attendees will be introduced to key elements of writing an artist statement, learn common pitfalls to avoid, and participate in a writing session to improve their current statements.   

Erin Fender


Erin Fender is Program Manager at APG. She received a BFA. in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. Fender has worked with galleries and arts institutions across the US, including Fraenkel Gallery in San Francisco and Atlanta Contemporary. She currently serves on the Advisory Council for Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP).

Materials: pen, paper, laptop (for rough draft or final edit of your statement)
