Workshop: Gallery Relations 101 - Lecture & Portfolio Review Session

Director of Whitespace Gallery Susan Bridges and artist and photo educator Forest McMullin lead this special two-part workshop discussing how to approach galleries, develop relationships, and professionally present your work. Following this discussion, each artist will have the opportunity to meet with McMullin or Bridges for a 20-minute portfolio review session.

Susan Bridges is the owner and director of Whitespace, a commercial art gallery opened in 2006. Atlanta-bred, Bridges is a tireless city booster, obsessive art collector, supporter of public art, activist, volunteer, mentor and advocate for emerging artists. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Board at Parse NOLA and sits on the advisory council at the Hambidge Creative Residency Program. Bridges previously served on the boards of Art Papers, Burnaway, Atlanta Medical Heritage, and the Atlanta Preservation Center. In 2014, she received the prestigious Nexus Award for her local leadership and instrumental role in making Atlanta a vibrant arts community.

Forest McMullin

Forest McMullin is a freelance photographer, consultant, and photographic educator based in Atlanta, Georgia. He specializes in photographing people on location and is respected for his ability to bring out their dignity while still showing them with directness and honesty. He works regionally, nationally, and internationally. McMullin received his BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MFA from SUNY at Brockport. His work is in the permanent collections of George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography, American Society of Media Photographers, Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester Institute of Technology, The Buffalo Museum of Science, and Finger Lakes Community College.

APG will refund up to 50% of the tuition fee if the cancellation is made up to one week before the workshop date.
