APG is excited to announce a new exhibition that will offer another $2500 purchase award. We are now taking submissions for Know South No South, juried by Richard McCabe, photography curator at the Ogden Museum in New Orleans. McCabe will select works from 6-8 artists that explore, challenge, venerate, or debunk the idea of Southern identity in 2018. One artist will be selected for the purchase award of $2,500 and selected works will enter the High Museum permanent collection. Deadline to enter is April 11th.

Push Pin Success
Wow. We had a huge turnout last Friday night for the opening of PUSH-PiN. Many people showed up early to make sure they got a good spot, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience. We were not expecting such an enormous crowd and were a little overwhelmed. Thanks also to Sara Keith and Allison Jarek from Atlanta School of Photography (ASOP) for providing an amazing photo booth, under very tricky lighting conditions. ASOP also provided beer, beverages, and prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Thank you, thank you, everyone.
Mellow Thanks

A special thank you to the Brookhaven Mellow Mushroom for their generous donation of 18(!!!) pizzas for PUSH-PiN. When you're in the mood for pizza, please consider visiting them for a pie and a pitcher. And make sure you thank them for donating to APG.
Record Art Sales in 2017
APG sold over $8,000 in art in 2017. That's a record for at least the the last five years. And we wrote $5,600 in checks to artists for those sales. Did you know APG only takes a 30% commission on art sales? That's a lower commission on sales than most galleries in the Atlanta area; both commercial and non-profit galleries usually take a 50% commission.

A Great Loss for APG

Ted & Gloria Maloof, Tom Meyer
We are very sorry to report that Ted Maloof passed away on the afternoon of December 21, 2017. Ted experienced a mild fall in October and suffered a small fracture. We all felt he would quickly rebound after a short period in rehab, but It was not to be. APG is deeply saddened at this loss, and our thoughts are with his wife Gloria and son Julin. We will be planning an appropriate tribute for our dear friend in the near future. At this time, we do not have any information on a memorial service. When we do, we will share on our Facebook page.
