All The News That's Fit to Print

Artist P. Seth Thompson leads the January 3rd meeting of the Critique group. For such a young artist, Thompson has quickly earned critical acclaim, exhibiting with artists such as Carrie Mae Weems, and curating exhibitions, too, most recently for the Zuckerman Musuem.

Push Pin

Our annual PUSH-PiN party is almost here, and it's going to better than ever. That's because this year we're partnering with the Atlanta School of Photography (ASoP) to offer incredible prizes and party features, such as the Pixel Stick, a photo booth, special guest judges, food, beverages, and more. Registration begins Friday night at 6:30pm and doors open at 7pm. Check the website in the coming days for more details.

Call For Entry

The deadline to submit work for Portfolio is this Sunday, December 17, at Midnight. Do not miss this opportunity to highlight your series or project. This year’s juror, Sam Barzilay, the creative director of United Photo Industries, co-founder of Photoville, and a founding producer of the T3 Photo Festival in Tokyo, will select one body of work each from 6-8 artists for exhibition. All exhibiting artists will be eligible for the APG / High Museum of Art Award of $2,500, which includes admittance into the High Museum of Art's permanent collection. Enter Portfolio now.

Holiday Show

Our Deck the Walls exhibition is ending soon. Don't miss a chance to purchase one of these small framed prints that make a perfect holiday gift for any art lover. Shannon Davis' I Got Somethin' to Show You is also up concurrently with this exhibition. Deck the Walls is open until December 29, 2017.

Last year APG donors offered to match every dollar donated if we could reach our goal of $10,000. That fundraiser was such an amazing success they've offered to do it again! Donate today, and you'll be supporting an organization that supports photographic artists with nine group exhibitions and six solo exhibitions each year, as well as critique groups, speakers, and, starting this spring, a series of workshops & classes. In these uncertain times, please make your donation before the end of the year – while it's still tax deductible. Click here and donate today.

The gallery will be closed December 23, 26, 30 for the holidays.
